Frequently asked questions
What counts as an API call?
An API call is counted each time you retrieve a decrypted key value through our External API. Validation checks and key metadata requests do not count against your quota.
Will I be notified before hitting my limit?
Yes! We send email alerts at 50%, 75%, 90%, and 100% of your usage limit — included free on all plans. You'll always have time to upgrade before running out of calls.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes! You can change your plan at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access to new features. When downgrading, changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What happens if I reach my API call limit?
You'll see a friendly message letting you know you've hit your limit. Upgrade anytime to continue — it takes effect instantly with no downtime. Your quota resets at the start of each billing cycle.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Yes! GitHub Marketplace offers a free trial period for paid plans. Simply select a plan and GitHub handles the trial and billing — no credit card required upfront.
